The hotel is quite good: room was in very good condition. King size bed are HUGE. View (ocean view room) was brilliant. We had our little swans forming a heart with the towels and all ... nice. The pool was fine. We actually didn't do any activities there so no feedback to give on this. The beach is really nice, white sand and clear water. The activities available are great too, if the hotel is quite full (like it was) you've got to be patient cause you've got to wait your turn to do some of those activities. The ones organised by the hotel (like beach volley, danse classes ...) were ok. Nothing much to say about it. Reception: people in reception were extremely busy and could therefore sometimes seem unfriendly or unhelpful. Though I beleive they are trying their best. We had no issues at all. Internet access: internet is very slow in all Cuba and very expensive too. In this hotel particularly expensive: 30 min = 5 CUC and 1h= 10 CUC. So you get like a card with a user and password that you enter everytime you log in. This card can only be used in that hotel though (:-s). As internet is very slow you need at least 30 min if you want one day to review your e-mails. (don't even thing looking at news and stuff cause you'll need 1 hour!) Restaurants: There is one buffet restaurant where you get your breakfast, lunch and dinner. There were however 3 other restaurants where you could have your dinner too (needed to book your time though with the public relations desk). Buffet: For breakfast, they had a very good variety of food and quality was good too. From sausages to croissants to yogurt... nice. For lunch and dinner, the variety is good too and so everyone could find something they liked. Food was good. I wouldn't however recommend to eat there every lunch and dinner as the variety day to day isn't that great. You don't want to end up eating the same thing over and over again I guess. We had a nice waiter, good service in general. The Italian restaurant: We didn't necessarily liked it. food was really average, I'd even say just eatable. I guess that when you come from Europe and you know what Italian food is you are disappointed with this restaurant. The cuban restaurant: We had our romantic dinner there (additional service to be paid for). The food was good though the menu is a bit small I think. Also the lobster wasn't tasteful enough. The seafood restaurant: no feedback available. (didn't eat there) All in all we had a good time there and will probably return to this hotel when/if we go back to Varadero.
