Overview - Bishops House Hotel, Prague

During the Romanesque period, at the end of the 12th century, the powerful bishop Prince Jindrich Bretislav had a vast court built as a bishop´s seat on the left bank of the Vltava river. In 1419 the court was plundered and burnt down, this was the fall of the court and the walls of the buildings were used in the construction of houses of the Prague bourgeoisie.
The hotel 's name today originates from these original beginnings 'The Bishop´s House'. The hotel is situated in the centre of the Prague Historical Conservation area , just underneath Prague Castle in the Lesser Town and about 2 minutes walk from Charles bridge.
Complete reconstruction of the building was finished in 1999. Today this is a very comfortable four star hotel offering clients attentive service and a fabulous location in this romantic city.

The Bishops House Hotel offers 45 rooms with shower/bathroom and the rooms have been beautifully refurbished to the highest standards, providing a graceful, yet homely ambience for clients to relax in.

Bars and Restaurants

The Bishops House Hotel has a very good restaurant where clients are invited to try the wide range of tempting dishes of both Czech and International cuisines, prepared by experienced chefs. The restaurant also offers the possibility of celebrating wedding banquets, graduation dinners or other events.
The capacity of the restaurant is 25 persons.

Guests are invited to have a coffee or a drink in the tavern and its small sidewalk café. Even in the hottest summer days you can enjoy a glass of original Pilsner Beer in the shade of the centuries old stone walls of the house.
