Overview
The luxurious 4 star Villa Ammende Hotel is situated in a superb garden park in the beach area of Pärnu. It is within walking distance of the town centre in the beach area. Ammende Villa, dating from 1905, is the most impressive Art Nouveau, or Jugendstil, building in Estonia. Ammende Villa Hotel & Restaurant was opened after extensive renovation in 1999 and is among the most outstanding attractions in Pärnu. It is not only a fascinating building to look at, but also a renowned world-class hotel and restaurant, which also hosts regular and varied concerts and exhibitions.
The "Seven Stars and Stripes" quality mark for luxurious products and services has been awarded to Ammende Villa Hotel and
Ammende Villa Restaurant.
Accommodation
Ammende Villa has 19 rooms to choose from.
The main building has 5 suites and 8 de Luxe rooms, all complete with antique furniture and furnishings retaining the original Art Nouveau influence. In the Gardener’s House there are 4 double de luxe and 2 single rooms furnished with Art Nouveau furniture.
AMMENDE SUITE -
The Ammende Suite is the most luxurious room of the villa, and is where the family lived a century ago. The suite has a floor area of about 100 m2, and comprises a bedroom, a living room, a hall, a bathroom with Jacuzzi and sauna, a balcony, and a toilet. The bedroom is furnished with antique cherry furniture in Art Nouveau style, and a stylish settee and pouffes add that touch of elegance of style. The balcony of the bedroom overlooks the beautiful garden and the fountain. In summer we serve your breakfast on the balcony at your request. On Thursday nights you have the chance to enjoy the jazz concerts from the Summer Music Programme in the courtyard of Ammende Villa. Having your dinner in front of the fire in the living room is a treat of delight.
- MAHOGANY SUITE -
The Mahogany Suite is on the first floor of the right wing of the main building. The room got its name from the wonderful hand-polished mahogany furniture. The smart set of furniture in dark mahogany colours comprises a large bed, bedside tables, a large wardrobe and a tall mirror. The beige set of furniture in the living room provides a balance of contrasting colour.
The suite has large windows overlooking the garden, and a balcony. The spacious bathroom has a fine Jacuzzi. The Mahogany Suite has been the favourite room of our guests for years. The Ammende Suite and the Mahogany Suite are both favoured by romantic couples and newly-weds alike.
- SUITES -
There are three more suites on the first floor of the main building boasting antique furnishings. Suite No. 5 also has a summer veranda where you can have your tea or coffee, or read a book in a wicker chair on a warm day. Suite No. 3 in shades of blue has very exclusive oak furniture. The bathroom has a small window for daylight. Suite No. 2 is the smallest, with a view of the garden. All suites have bathrooms.
- DE LUXE ROOMS -
On the top floor you will find our cosy attic-like de Luxe rooms. Low ceilings and small windows in different shapes and sizes add a romantic touch to these rooms. De Luxe room No. 11 comes on split levels and has both a shower and a sauna. Room No. 9 is the only room to have dark ash furniture. The rest of the de Luxe rooms have light furniture in Art Nouveau style.
- ROOMS IN THE GARDENER'S HOUSE -

Restaurant award
We had taken our aperitif at the Main Salon and were pleasantly relaxed when we heard a charming voice announcing: ''Gentlemen, I would like to ask you to follow me to the Dining Hall!''.... Befitting the Ammende Villa's historic elegant style, the Dining Hall restaurants instantly captivated us with their pleasing home-like atmosphere. The ambiance was captivating and at the same time serene, white starched linens reflecting the romantic flickering candlelight, highlighting the interesting land décor and the elegant china. The Ammende features three dining rooms in the right wing; the Red Dining Hall is the most intimate in size after conversion from an old kitchen, at one point in time. A priceless tiled oven complimented the dark walls, and the precious blue velvet covered antic chairs.
Napkins were quickly folded into our laps; and the breadbasket was offered instantly by our waiter for the evening, Mikk Lankots. We started with Roasted Lamb Liver Noisettes, drizzled with a daring Blackcurrant Sauce, paired with an interesting ruby berry, vanilla nosed Chianti Classico Brolio 2005 Toscana, Barone Riscasoli - offered by Monika Raudkivi, our sommelier. The roasted lamb liver salad was very good and created with an eggplant-truffle puree and balsamic sauce. Next, Seafood Ravioli with Arugula-Parsley sauce stuffed with fresh eel, caught at local Lake Vorsjarve and presented with a Barbera d'Alba, Superiore 2005 Piemonte, Rivietto.
The intermezzo was served in the form of a refreshing, light Cantaloupe Soup. Our main course, A Steamed Pike Perch with Pumpkin Risotto, was a sensuously delicious fine food, again, well paired with a classic Blanc Faiveley Mercurey Clos Rochette 2002. We were told that the Pike Perch was caught by Chef de Cuisine Margus Sarev's friend Indrek Pekko, from the waters of ‘Pärnu’. We will be eternally grateful for Indrek's good luck and the chef's talents. Paired with a Chateau Belingard 2005 Monbazillac, France - a powerful wine for a great dish, clear with a nice fruity bite. Most of the herbs and vegetables used in the Ammende kitchens are grown and harvested locally. To challenge the culinary talents of the chef, we choose a Rack of Lamb with Potato Gratin, accompanied by a Peppered Cherry and Rosemary Red Wine Sauce. A fascinating dish, indeed. The lamb is raised on farms that belong to Rein Kilk, the owner of Ammende Villa Catering OU.
We cleared our palates with some cheese with raisin jam and comb honey served with marinated garlic and white bread crostini. Then came the luscious dessert of Madame Ellen Ammende, a dream of coffee tiramisu and wild berries, which for luck of better words, was 'to die for'. This was followed by a classy, heart warming cognac de Delamain X.O. Coffee and Petite Fours, handmade truffles, marzipan, wafers and other deliriously delicious delicacies. Chef de Cuisine Margus Sarev, must be applauded for his delicious creations of the harvest of the land and sea and his lavish presentation.

Best gourmet restaurant in Estonia 2008
The prize for The Best Gourmet Restaurant was handed over to Ammende Villa Restaurant´s chief chef Mr Tarmo Frey, who has been a chef in several quality restaurants in England and is by our knowledge the only estonian, nominated for the titles of Michelin and Rosette. While handing over the prize, the main organizer of the contest mentioned also a great service in Ammende Villa Restaurant. It has in fact been the Silverspoon prize of Best Service in Estonia that has been given to Ammende Villa earlier. Ammende Villa´s sister company Restaurant Volga in Tartu received a title of the nominee in Best New Restaurant 2008 category. The promoter and chief chef of this Art Deco style restaurant opened in 2007, is Mr Marko Lumera, who has been earlier Ammende Villa´s chef for many years.
