The central part of the present hotel building has been welcoming guests since 1915 when it was known as the Imperial Hotel. After its reopening in 1985, the Best Western Hotel Hungaria has been modernised several times. The Best Western Hotel Hungaria is a patron of modern Hungarian art: the majority of the works of art were ordered by the hotel and the artists were inspired by the hotel in their final works. The most famous of the thirty artists are the renowned sculptors Miklós Melocco, Pál Ko and Péter Vladimir, Zsuzsa Péreli whose tapestries are known all over the world and Attila Zsigmond, György Puiz and Barna Bardócz reputable masters of applied arts.

As it is located along the main traffic line of the city's heart, leading to the Elizabeth Bridge, Best Western Hotel Hungaria has excellent public transport connections (metro and railway stations nearby) ensuring easy access to the most important parts of the city and the countryside. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to all major shopping and business centres and the historical old downtown.
