Overview

A totally unusual resort concept, the architecture of Hotel Mongolia, reminds the visitor of an ancient monastery. It is situated in a picturesque area next to the River Tuul, about 20 kilometers east of Ulaanbaatar city centre. You enter the premises through the Northern main gate and arrive in a spectacular lobby with high ceilings and red brick walls, a reminder of the Forbidden City. Arcades surround the hotel complex, alongside the four metre strong walls. They guide you to the central complex where you will find the hotel restaurant which offers spectacular views in all directions.
The handmade, carved wooden doors and furniture are excellent examples of Mongolian craftsmanship.

Accommodation

All rooms and yurts of Hotel Mongolia have superior space which truly distinguishes this hotel. The whole compound consists of 108 generously-styled apartments, each with high modern standards. All rooms are equipped with their own modern bathroom, with running hot and cold water, reading corner, telephone and mini bar. Room service is also available.

A range of traditional style room types are available:

Traditional Gers:
Our traditional Gers are situated in the Western part of our hotel premises with a beautiful view of the mountains and our Mini Naadam area where we are regularly organizing demonstrations of traditional Mongolian sport competitions. All gers are comfortably furnished and each has a private bath with shower and WC, hair dryer and a coffee/tea making facility. This is the simple type of accommodation on offer in Hotel Mongolia.

Stone Gers:
Round buildings built brick on brick which due to their external and internal shape are representing the typical, Mongolian yurt. The space on offer is extremely large and comfortable. The Stone Gers offer a private bath and all amenities, satellite TV, telephone and mini bar. Each Stone Ger has its individual note in furnishing and decorations.

Temple Rooms:
Of equal quality are our Temple Rooms. In six massive buildings which are designed like small temples we offer a total of 24 very spacious hotel rooms with the same standard of the Stone Gers. The rooms types are different in terms of design and architecture but the comfort level is identical. Thus, both room types are of the same category.

Khan Rooms (Junior suites).
These rooms are designed with even more space on offer and a truly unique decoration inspiring their name. Some Khan Rooms offer a bath tub instead of a shower.

River Beach Cottage:
The premises of Hotel Mongolia comprise a total of 190.000 sq.m. of which a stretch of almost 400m is directly adjacent to the Tuul river. On the river banks you will find a sandy beach, the ideal retreat from the hectic life of the capital where you can enjoy fresh air, the unique setting in a remarkable landscape or a refreshing bath in the river after your excursion to the Gobi desert. Simply to relax in the sun is one option but we have numerous activities on offer as well, starting with Beach Volley Ball to Nordic Walking and Horseback Riding or a Rafting trip on the river. The beach area is, of course, serviced and we shall try to create a most pleasant experience for our guests.

Children up to the age of 6 years sleep free of charge in their parents room.

Restaurants and Bars

Great Empire restaurant
Our hotel restaurant is located in a free standing building on the hotel premises, designed like an ancient pagoda temple. With its high ceilings, spacious floor layout and panoramic windows, you will have an excellent view over the entire hotel complex and of the unspoiled natural surroundings.

At any time our restaurant offers space for 250 guests. We also offer more than 500 sq.m of open terrace space, the preferred choice during summer months. With great pleasure we shall organize your private or corporate reception, wedding etc. Please, contact us wiht your enquiry and receive our individual proposal for your event.

Our guests can choose between authentic Chinese cuisine, Mongolian and European dishes. As accompanying beverages we serve the famous Khanbrau draft and fresh from the cask, a wide variety of carefully selected, international wines and spirits. Plus, of course, non-alcoholic beverages of all kinds.

Leisure Facilities

With the initiative of our partner Beautiful Mongolia, we started organizing the Morin Khuur music performance in 2007. Morin Khuur is a famous group which performs concerts throughout the world. We welcome you to indulge in beautiful melodies of horse fiddle instrument and admire the talent of the Mongolian nation.
