What is included in the price?
If you click on the price, you will see the complete price breakdown for each hotel or service. The hotel price is always per room and NOT per person. VAT and most local taxes are included. Some hotels in Poland charge a local tax. Some provincial Russian hotels charge a booking fee which we include. Some hotels will charge a small fee for your visa registration (in countries where applicable).
Is breakfast included?
When the available selection for your dates is shown, you can check what is included by clicking on the price. This will show if breakfast is included for that hotel. If not, you may pay locally.
What is an instant booking?
This is a hotel which is confirmed to you instantly from our allotment of rooms.
What does ‘on request’ mean?
This is when we have to check availability at the hotel of your choice before we can confirm to you.
How long does it take to confirm a requested service?
We aim to confirm hotels the same day, sometimes within the hour. However for some remote hotels and during high occupancy periods, this can take longer. We prioritise these bookings and will keep you informed.
What happens if I request a hotel for next day arrival?
Any bookings for arrival within 2 days are dealt with as a priority and you will be contacted the day before you travel. It is important to provide correct telephone numbers and email addresses so that we can make contact with you easily.
Can I cancel with no penalty?
If your hotel has not yet been confirmed you may cancel with no penalty. However, once confirmed, cancellation penalties apply. See Terms and Conditions
When I use my credit card on your system - is it safe?
When you pay, we take you to a fully secure payment page - you can see this by looking at the small lock shown in your toolbar. This indicates that the site is secure. Our site security certification is provided by Verisign - one of the leading online security providers - if you click on the certificate that you can see on www.select-a-room.com, you can see the validity of our security certification. If you are still uncertain, we offer an offline booking facility where you can pay by phone with your credit card.
Can I pay by means other than credit card?
For individual bookings payments can be made only using valid credit cards. For group bookings over USD 1000 in value we can accept bank transfer payments with an administration fee of USD50.
When will the charge appear on my credit card?
Payment is taken on the day your service is confirmed. Your credit card statement will show a transaction via ‘Select-a-Room’.
Will you send me an invoice or receipt?
You will receive a booking summary as soon as you make a reservation. This will detail the prices. You may request and invoice.

Are you open 24 hrs all year round?
Calls are accepted in UK from 09.00hrs to 17.30hrs Monday - Friday. Calls are accepted in Ukraine and Russia from 09.00hrs to 18.00hrs Monday - Friday and 10.00 - 13.00 hrs Saturday. All offices are closed for national public holidays:
Can I make a reservation for someone else?
Yes, please make sure you enter the guest names correctly and provide valid contact details.
Can I double check my reservation with the hotel directly?
Not always. As we hold allocations of rooms at many hotels especially lower priced hotels), your name may not be on the hotel's own guest list until the day of arrival. If you contact a hotel and they say they do not have your details, do not be alarmed.
How do I change my booking?
You are given unique reference number with your confirmation. You can only re-enter your booking using this reference and by specifying the email address you originally used when booking. If you have mislaid this, please contact a reservations centre.
Do I need a visa?
All foreigners need a visa to visit Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. However, it is your responsibility to check if you require a visa for the country you are visiting. Contact your nearest Consulate for that country.
How do I get a Russian visa?
In the United Kingdom (only) you can use our dedicated visa service. Click here for more details In all cases you will need a visa support letter and voucher. You can do this through www.select-a-room.com at the same time or after you make your hotel reservation. In all other countries please apply to the local Consulate for details of how to apply for a visa.
Can I have a visa support for longer than the duration of my booking?
Yes, for an extra fee. Please ask for details.
How will I receive my visa support ?
This will be faxed to the number you provide or emailed.
