Overview - Sokos Viru Hotel
The 4 Star Sokos Viru hotel occupies an enviable spot on what’s generally considered the very centre of Tallinn, the large Finnish-managed Sokos Viru Hotel offers an unbeatable combination of amenities and location. Aside from several classes of rooms, a conference centre, two respectable restaurants and a popular nightclub, the hotel also has direct access to the huge, new Viru shopping centre, which can satisfy even the deepest of retail cravings. Recently the hotel has opened it's own KGB museum, see 'Hotel Museum' section for details.
The hotel was renovated in 2011.

Besides its retro image, Bar Bogart is a genuine whisky bar - you'll find here the biggest selection of different whiskys in Tallinn.

This January Tallinn was enriched by a new experience, a museum allowing visitors to take a trip back to the Soviet era.
In Soviet times it was rumoured that the KGB had files on everyone and that they operated from the Viru Hotel. The latter rumour turned out to be true. Those intrigued by the city's secret history can now visit the newly opened hotel museum. It's the first of its kind in Estonia.
The museum on the 23rd floor of Sokos Hotel Viru includes expositions of spying equipment which have been collected from the hotel's own archives.
The best way to enjoy the experience is as a part of a tour.
Registering in advance is highly recommended by phone +372 6809 300 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tickets: 7 Euros (5 Euros for hotel guests)
Family tickets: 15 Euros, valid for two parents and up to 3 children.
Jan - April, Oct - Dec, Sat-Sun 10 am tour in Finnish, 11:30 am tour in English, 1 pm tour in Estonian and 3 pm tour in Russian.

Meeting and Conference Facilities
In October 2003 the most up-to-date Conference Centre in Tallinn opened its doors at Sokos Hotel Viru. The new multifunctional conference hall can accommodate up to 900 people in the most open configuration. The largest of the halls provide enough space for activities while accommodating as many as 500 people. Many of the conference rooms can also be divided into smaller sections by means of movable soundproof walls, enabling versatility for smaller work groups. The conference rooms provide a full range of user friendly technical solutions. The state-of-the-art audio-visual and technical aids available enable the holding of the most pretentious scientific conferences, let alone entertainment and shows. The planning of the space and the integration of all the technical support facilities was carefully thought through with the best Estonian and Scandinavian professional planners.
